What is the IQOS heating system?
Heating principle
Conventional and well-known methods of using tobacco require fire. However, the IQOS device does not use fire, and special heated tobacco products HEETS are heated, not burned.
HeatControl technology
Special heat-activated technology ensures that IQOS does not overheat and that the temperature does not rise to burning temperature during the heating cycle.
Heating blade
Located in the center of the IQOS holder, made of ceramic and coated with precious metal, it heats HEETS from the inside during each heating cycle.
What does the heating system consist of?
The IQOS system – IQOS 2.4 Plus, IQOS 3 DUO or IQOS ORIGINALS DUO consists of two parts.
Both parts complement each other:
- The holder heats heated tobacco products,
- A portable charger helps you always charge your device when needed.

Each IQOS 2.4 Plus, IQOS 3 DUO and IQOS ORIGINALS DUO device has a unique code that allows you to identify the device if necessary. This code can be found in two places.

IQOS is designed to be used with original HEETS tobacco sticks available in Estonia , as only then can the smooth operation of the system and scientifically proven properties be guaranteed.
- All scientific studies and assessments conducted by the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) are based on the use of IQOS with HEETS.
- Using this device with other products may cause damage to the device, poor user experience, and not all product features may be guaranteed.
- If IQOS is not used with the intended product , warranty and damage protection* services may not apply.
* Damage protection applies if IQOS breaks due to user activity (not due to a manufacturing defect). This device exchange service can be used once every 12 months from the date of purchase, if the device is registered to a personal account.
