A hot cigarette emits smoke, and an aerosol is produced when the tobacco is heated using IQOS.
Why is it important to exclude combustion in smokeless products such as IQOS, and what is the main difference that makes aerosol less harmful than smoke?
Let's start with the beginning - with differences between aerosol and smoke.
What is cigarette smoke?
В общих чертах дым – это резултать горения. When a cigarette is lit, the tobacco heats up to a temperature of about 600 °C and begins to burn. When the smoker draws in, the temperature at the tip of the cigarette exceeds 800 °C.
In the process of burning tobacco, smoke is released. Cigarette smoke is a very complex toxic mixture containing thousands of chemicals and carbon-based solid particles, which are formed during the combustion of tobacco at a very high temperature. According to public health care institutions, these substances formed during burning have a proven impact on health and are the cause of smoking-related diseases.
What is an aerosol?
In short, an aerosol is a suspension of solid and/or liquid particles in a gas, usually in the air. Аерозолем работы, к примеру, облака на небе, туман, пар. There are many different types of aerosol, and depending on the source, the composition of the aerosol can vary greatly.
При гревании табака с хорошей IQOS, тоже отделояться аерозол. Since there is no combustion in the IQOS tobacco heating system, the composition of the aerosol is radically different from the composition of the smoke. IQOS emits significantly fewer harmful chemical compounds than cigarettes.*
It is precisely for this reason that a full transition to IQOS is more beneficial for health than smoking.**
Important information: IQOS is not safe and contains nicotine, which causes addiction.
*The average reduction in the concentration of various harmful chemical substances (except nicotine) compared to the concentration in the smoke of the standard cigarette.
** On the basis of all available evidence in favor of IQOS in comparison with the continuation of smoking.
